Intro: This tour is mostly for veterans who are interested in their old battle field where they used to fight during the Vietnam War (before 1975) and now come back to revisit their old battlefields from north to south of Vietnam. It also offers you a good chance to experience a new Vietnam with many renovations in the peace time.
DAY 1: ARRIVE HANOI (D)
Arrive in Hanoi. Meet your guide at Noi Bai Airport and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner and enjoy Water Puppet Show. Overnight in Hanoi.
DAY 2: HANOI – HA LONG BAY (B/L/D)
Breakfast. Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his House-on-stilts, Ho Chi Minh Museum, and One Pillar Pagoda. Visit the Temple of Literature, which is the first University in Vietnam from 11 century. Transfer to Ha Long Bay – one of the most beautiful landscapes in Vietnam, which was ranked in the World Heritage by UNESCO in 1994. The road going through the countryside will lead you to see villages, authentic farmers and buffalos working in the boundless rice fields. Dinner and stay in Ha Long city.
DAY 3: HA LONG BAY – HANOI (B/L/D)
Breakfast. You proceed for a boat trip through majestic Ha Long Bay, an area of immense beauty dotted with thousands of islands rising dramatically from the sea carved by nature into various shapes and sizes. Visitors are charmed with the amazing grottoes, glistering cliffs and their magnificence. We will visit Thien Cung Cave (Celestial cave), Dau Go cave (Wooden Stakes cave) and others. Fresh seafood lunch is served on board. Back to the mainland and drive back to Hanoi. Dinner and stay in Hanoi.
DAY 4: HANOI – HUE (B/L/D)
Transfer to airport for the morning flight to Hue. On arrival, transfer to the wharf for a boat trip on Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda and King Minh Mang’s Tomb. After lunch, visit the Complex of Hue Citadel – World Heritage and King Khai Dinh’s Tomb. Dinner and stay in Hue.
DAY 5: HUE – QUANG TRI 72km (B/L/D)
Checkout and drive to Quang Tri, 72km far from Hue. Visit the area of 17th Parallel with the famous Macnamara electrical fence in the war. Visit Quang Tri Old Citadel, Khe Sanh Battle Field, Vinh Moc underground Tunnel and Truong Son Cemetery. Dinner and stay in Quang Tri.
DAY 6: QUANG TRI – HOI AN 210km (B/L/D)
Drive to Hoi An via Hue and the imposing Hai Van mountain pass, a part of Truong Son mountain range running down to the sea to split the high way. On arrival check into your hotel and visit Hoi An Ancient Town – another World’s Heritage of a forgotten seaport from 17th century well reserved until now. We visit a Chinese Temple, Japanese-covered Bridge and an ancient house of mixing style from Vietnam, China and Japan. You can buy some small ancient ceramic gifts as souvenir here with surprising price. Dinner and stay in Hoi An.
DAY 7: HOI AN – KON TUM 340km (B/L/D)
After breakfast, checkout and drive to Kon Tum. On arrival, lunch and check into your hotel. Visit Wooden Church, Grave Statue, Rong House and Suspension Bridge. Dinner and stay in Kon Tum.
DAY 8: KON TUM (B/L/D)
Drive to the former battle fields and military strongholds such as Dakto, Ta Con, Phuong Hoang (Phoenix), Charlie and the Historical Ho Chi Minh trail. Dinner and stay in Kon Tum
DAY 9: KON TUM – BAN ME THUOT (B/L/D)
Transfer to Ban Me Thuot – mountainous city in the west highland, home to elephants in Vietnam. Dinner and stay in Ban Me Thuot.
DAY 10: BAN ME THUOT (B/L/D)
Visit Ban Me Thuot Museum, Don Village and experience an elephant ride. In the evening enjoy traditional music and dance of minority people imposing misty Draysap waterfall in the south of Ban Me Thuot, a wonderful waterfall in the area. Accommodation.
DAY 11: BAN ME THUOT – SAIGON (B/L/D)
Leave Ban Me Thuot for Saigon – the biggest city in Vietnam. Arrive in the animated and exciting Saigon. Check-in your hotel and relax after a long trip. Dinner on a floating restaurant cruising along Saigon River.
DAY 12: SAIGON – CU CHI – SAIGON (B/L/D)
Today you visit the most typical places in the city: Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, the City Hall, the former Presidential Palace, the former US Embassy, War Remnants Museum. In the afternoon, excursion to the unbelievable Cu Chi underground tunnel – The most famous battle field in Vietnam War with the over-200km-long tunnels. Back to Saigon. Dinner and stay in Saigon.
DAY 13: DEPART SAIGON (B)
Breakfast. Free of day for shopping. Transfer to airport for your departure flight.
